Also receiving special recognition awards on the night were several long standing NGO partners who have been exemplars in their respective fields. They were ALTA, Moms for Literacy, Servol, the Dyslexia Association, Mamatoto and the Heroes Foundation.
Our partners in our Community Impact Project, the JB Fernandes Memorial Trust II and Republic Bank were also in receipt of special awards.
Finally, the event was used to launch the 2017 fundraising campaign which you will be hearing in more detail in subsequently.
The National Day of Caring was held May 21st, 2017. United Way Trinidad and Tobago was able to rally close to 50 partners in over 60 projects around the twin island Republic.
In particular, the UWTT with project manager assistance from the Home Solutions Limited was able to inject significant change aesthetically and infrastructure-wise at the St Mary’s Mucurapo Boys RC school. The entire school was repainted and a few classes received a physical facelift.
Additionally, a library with books was refurbished and made available for use by the students and children.
Images of these activities can be found in the photo gallery.
