The United Way of Trinidad and Tobago relaunched our COVID-19 Relief and Response Programme (CRRP) on May 3, 2021. In 2020, we disbursed 1,361 grants comprising 1,061 cash grants and 304 grocery voucher grants valued at $500 each. Based on lessons learnt and feedback from partners and families, we have adjusted the Programme to address bottlenecks and improve efficiency. We recognise that for the more vulnerable in our society there has been little time to start recovery. Relief efforts are needed, even more than before given more limited Social Support Grants coming from the Government. The overall purpose is to improve access to basic food and essential supplies by vulnerable communities, with a focus on families with young children.
